World Boxing News provides live results and updates from York Hall, London, as Kieron Conway defends his British and Commonwealth Middleweight Titles against unbeaten challenger George Liddard.
The highly anticipated domestic showdown headlines a stacked card on DAZN. Both fighters hit the scales comfortably at Thursday’s weigh-in — Conway at 159.7lbs and Liddard at 159.4lbs — and both looked in fighting shape ahead of what promises to be a spirited battle in the capital.
In the co-main event, Shannon Ryan faces Chloe Watson for the vacant IBF Inter-Continental Super Flyweight Title. At the same time, Jimmy Sains collides with Troy Coleman for the English and Commonwealth Silver Middleweight belts.
Teenage prodigy Tiah-Mai Ayton also features in her third professional bout against Laura Belen Valdebenito of Argentina.
RESULTS
George Liddard outworked Kieron Conway at York Hall, taking the win via 10th-round TKO after Conway’s corner threw in the towel. The reigning champion had been knocked down once in the ninth and suffered a left-hand injury during the fight. Despite the setback, Liddard’s performance was dominant enough that victory was well-deserved.
Shannon Ryan gets the win over Chloe Watson via technical decision after a clash of heads left Watson with a severely swollen eye. The ringside doctor allowed one more round, but the injury worsened after the third. Four completed rounds elapsed before the fight went to the scorecards, with all three judges scoring it 40-36 in favour of Ryan.
Jimmy Sains delivered a dominant performance against Troy Coleman, forcing his opponent’s corner to pull him out at the end of the fourth round. With the stoppage, Sains claims the vacant English and Commonwealth Silver Middleweight titles and sends a clear message in the division.
Kicking off the live broadcast, 19-year-old Tiah-Mai Ayton impressed once again in her third professional outing, stopping the durable Laura Belen Valdebenito dominantly. The rising bantamweight prospect showcased her power early, flooring her opponent twice before sealing her third straight stoppage victory to remain perfect in the paid ranks.
Prelims
Closing out the prelims, Leli Buttigieg continued his steady rise with a hard-fought victory over Christian Schembri in an all-Maltese middleweight clash. Despite a nasty cut from a clash of heads, Buttigieg boxed smartly over eight rounds to secure a deserved points win by a score of 79-73, marking his first full-distance eight-round outing.
Big-hitting super middleweight Taylor Bevan continued his destructive run at York Hall, breaking down Lukas Ferneza before sealing the win with a fifth-round stoppage after scoring a knockdown to close the show emphatically. Bevan is now 6-0 with all knockouts.
Bantamweight prospect Adam Maca, 18, followed up with another impressive performance, forcing the referee to halt the bout in the final round against a determined Juan Alberto Batista to move his record to 3-0.
Jermaine Dhliwayo opened the York Hall card in style with a fourth-round stoppage victory to set the tone for the night.
