Arturo Gatti Jr. added to Juan Estrada undercard

Arturo Gatti Jr. will make an appearance on June 14 in Mexico under the watch of Coliseo Promotions and Zanfer Boxing, WBN can confirm.

The teenage Gatti Jr. is in action in Hermosillo as the son of the legend Arturo ‘Thunder’ Gatti continues the long legacy.

Gatti is to compete at Centro de Usos Multiples in a showcase fight with Tickets on sale now for the bill topped by Pound for Pound star Juan Estrada.

Former flyweight and super flyweight champion Estrada (44-4, 28 KOs) moves up to bantamweight to battle Karim Arce.

Estrada heads up in weight following his defeat to Jesse Rodriguez and aims to get back in the mix at the business end of the P4P list. Wins over Roman Gonzalez, Carlos Cuadras, and Srisaket Sor Rungvisai made Estrada a permanent fixture in the top ten.

“El Gallo” has since dropped to 27, but at 35, still has time to become a three-weight world champion.

The addition of Gatti only adds further intrigue to the bill, which sees Camila Zamorano (11-0, 1 KO) and Mika Iwakawa (13-7-1, 4 KOs) battle for the WBC minimumweight title.

It’s a known fact that fans loved Arturo Gatti Sr., and the sport was a much sadder place once he passed away in 2009 under mysterious circumstances.

His trilogy with Micky Ward will shine brightly in boxing for years to come, and round nine is considered the best round ever.

As World Boxing News has reported many times, Gatti is the image of his dad and has the speed to match. However, it’s challenging to gauge how well the youngest could perform at this early stage.

An opponent will be confirmed soon.
